Here comes the first issue! Plus some As to your Qs

Please see end of post for updates from our circulation department.

Wow! The first issue is coming off the presses next week. We've all worked so hard to get this to happen and now the day is finally almost here. It's a relief and kind of a scary thing at the same time... like sending your child off to college and hoping she'll do a good job. Can't wait to hear what everyone thinks of the magazine once it's in your hands.

And when will that be, you ask? Our estimate for subscriber delivery dates is around February 21 or 22. Post here when you get yours and we'll see how quickly the USPS is scattering the Digital love around the world.

A couple of you have had questions about the subscription process. Here are the answers I've come up with so far:

How many issues are in a subscription? Six. We're publishing bimonthly, just like Simple Scrapbooks does, and we're alternating months--so you'll have a fresh source of inspiration every month!

How much for a Canadian/foreign subscription? Just add $6 to the overall price for a subscription in Canada or $10 for one in any other non-U.S. country--still a great deal.

Edited to add: Some subscribers have called our office to find out when the first issue would be mailed and told it would not be until April or May. Although the cover date of this issue is April/May, it IS leaving the printer next week and mailing out immediately. Also, several commenters have mentioned not yet receiving a bill for their subscriptions. I've contacted our subscriptions manager to find out when those bills will be mailed and will post here as soon as I find out. Thanks for your patience!

Edited again to add: I've just heard back from our circulation department with answers to all our questions! Invoices for subscriptions will be mailed about one week after the first issue ships, so subscribers should be starting to see bills around March 1st or so in the U.S., a little later in other countries. If you want to check and make sure your subscription actually processed (like maybe if you haven't seen your first issue by March 5th or so?), you can contact our circulation department to check: 877-300-0265 or DigitalScrapbooking@palmcoastd.com.

Let me know if there's anything else I can answer for you! And keep an eye out for our all-new Web site... coming soon.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I'm going to a scrapbooking retreat in March and planning to take my laptop, printer and scanner for most of my work. Now I'll have some great inspiration.

I signed up for a charter subscription about a month ago and still have not received a bill or anything to confirm my subscription. How do I know that I am on the charter subscriber list?

Ditto what angi said, and also, if I'm not for some reason on the subscriber list, when will the magazine hit the newstands?h

I am also wondering about being billed - nothing as yet and it makes me wonder if my signing up for a subscription actually "took" - I don't want to miss out on the pricing of this great resource!

Hi Molly-

The same thing happened to me as Angi, Tania and Linda! I even called your offices and was told that "Digital Scrapbooking" wasn't coming out until April or May. I went back and double checked the website and saw February as the date for the first issue. So I called back and spoke with a different person. I explained the situation and they put me on hold. They came back and said it wouldn't be coming out until April or May. I asked again about not having received an e-mail confirmation or a bill in the mail. They said I would. I never have. I even suggested they update the website to reflect the change in publication dates!

I'm worried that my subscription has not been properly registered. Please help!

I´m so looking forward to this magazine, but the same as stated above happened for me - no bill or confirmation for my subscription. Is it because I live in Germany? Did I subscribe too early, just right wenn the site started? It would be a great thing, if there was something like a customer service on the site, where we could ask questions, or maybe a way to contact you directly Molly...

Seems to me that most people are in this boat. We have a thread going on one of the digi scrap sites and one person out of about 30 of us had received a bill. We are all a bit nervous!

Ditto on the bill I signed up ages ago and then again recently due to no bill but I still haven't rec'd a bill yet and really would like to receive mag when it comes out.

Hmm... I haven't received a bill for my subscription (bought one for my mom!) either. I will check on the billing status and report back--thanks for letting us know what's going on.

The issues are DEFINITELY coming off the printer next week and going straight into the mail. The confusion at the office may have been because the issue date is April/May. But please rest assured that your magazine will be arriving soon!

Thanks so much for the update! I can hardly wait for the magazine to arrive...which reminds me: I think I registered for a subscription, but I'm not sure. Is there an easy way for me to find out? I was afraid to do it again ('cause I only need one copy, heh-heh)! Thanks!

I cannot wait to see this magazine! I've been anticipating it forever it seems! And the fact that it will alternate months with the original is perfect! YAY! YAY! YAY!

Hi Molly -
Thanks so much for the swift response! Very excited it will be in my mailbox so soon! I'm also reassured that the billing will sort out in due time!

I'm in the same boat, signed up, but no bill. Also, I was a subscriber to Digital Scrapbooking Magazine and was told that part of my paid subscription there would be honored by Simple Scrapbooks Digital Magazine when it came out. Is that true and will it be added to my new subscription? I didn't want to miss anything so just in case, I went ahead and subscribed.

Thanks!
Karen

Thanks for the update Molly. I'm having a similar issue as everyone else.. but I do live in Australia could that be the problem? Don't want to re-subscribe just in case.. but can't wait :)

I have been wondering the same thing as a lot of the above. I signed up several weeks ago, and never heard anything confirming or billing the subscription. Is there any way to confirm?
Thanks.

I am so excited about this magazine and can't wait to see it! I, like the others, have not received a bill yet for my subscription and I signed up two months ago - as soon as the site was up. How can I verify that you received my subscription???? I don't want to miss the first issue!!!

Nicole said...

Same for me - no bill or confirmation of subscription. Don't want to miss the first issue!
Thanks

I have all the previous special issues of Digital Scrapbooking Magazines(1-5)and they are so "dog-eared" from perusing them! I can't wait for this to be in my mailbox every other month. The only thing that would be better is to have it arrive EVERY month!

Hmmm - I signed up in November for the charter offer but having just tried to access my account, apparently I don't exist ("We are unable to find your account information."). Should I be panicking about now or this is because I am an international customer?

Hi, today is 3/3/07 and I have not received my magazine, nor a bill either. I've tried finding a number to call from this website - and none I found. A couple of months ago I had to call about my SS subscription and confirmed at that time I was subscribed, but not bill and no magazine. What is happening?

I am really bummed because I just got off the phone with customer service and found out I will NOT be receiving the first issue (even thought the lady said I would be getting the first issue (April/May...this isn't the first one, right??). :( I had to sign up TWICE in the system as I had no idea if my first time even went through. I don't really care for how the subscription sign up worked for this and I am a little annoyed that I now have to go and hunt down the premier issue in a store even though I have paid for my subscription! :(

I have no idea what the "glitch" was, but I just wanted to add that it has been very frustrating for those of us who subscribed back in November, to have been lost in the process. I had to re-sign in January and never received an email confirmation. It was a good thing I saw a post on a message board about the "suspended accounts" because then I was able to access the site and immediately paid my bill online. However, today (3/8/07) I received an invoice - but no magazine.

I'm in Ohio but yet discovered that Archiver's received copies of the magazine but most of the subscribers here didn't. (And I just learned someone already receive their copy...in Denmark!)

If you could pass this on - in the eyes of many subscribers, the point of subscribing is to receive the magazine ahead of store distribution. But for some reason, it doesn't seem to work that way with scrapbooking subscriptions...

I seem to have a different scenario - I received and paid an online invoice. I also received a paper bill a week or so later. Does the paper mean there was a problem with my electronic payment?
My magazine arrived today, and I can't wait to dive into it!

Well, it is the 23rd of March and I still have NOT received the magazine that I was told I would receive in February and then by March 20th! I have received an e-mail telling me I could pay the bill for my subscription and I received a bill in the mail - yet they have a problem getting the magazine to me. What kind of business is that??? I can not emphasize enough how gravely disappointed I am in this magazine. These are the people who bring you Creating Keepsakes and Simple Scrapbooks magazines, so this is not a new process to them. In addition, I took a look at the magazine in the store (which you can find on any store magazine rack - just not in your mailbox) and I am THOROUGHLY DISAPPOINTED with the magazine. The first thing I noticed when I picked it up was how skimpy the magazine was, so I turned to the back to see that it has a mere 115 pages, while most other scrapbooking magazines have about 150 pages. I turned to the first page and flipped through about 15 pages and saw NOTHING BUT ADVERTISEMENT! One after the other on page after page and this doesn't include the ones throughout the rest of the magazine! So the premiere issue appears to be a skimpy magazine full of ads. I'm in complete agreement with a previous writer - Digital Scrapbooking you can expect to receive the bill back, because I'm not interested in this kind of garbage. Your customer service is the worse I've ever seen and I'm not interested in receiving a flier each month full of advertisements. I get Pennysaver for free!!!
