After the tinsel settles...

...it's back to work, blogging and scrapbooking!

Sometimes the line between the two gets so thin it threatens to disappear. What is a personal blog, really, but an electronic scrapbook? Photos, stories, the desire to share--just three of the essential elements found in both.

Do you have a blog? Have you ever thought of your blogging as scrapbooking? What about a family blog, where all members are invited to read, contribute, share? I've seen a few of these and loved them. In fact, my mom--the original technophobe--suggested the other day that we start one to let the far-flung members of our family communicate, sharing snippets of our lives from California to Washington, D.C.

Maybe that'd be a good New Year's resolution... and a much easier one to keep than the ones always at the top of my list: to exercise and lose weight!

Are you a scrapbooking blogger? Please feel free to comment with a link to your own personal or family blog. Show us what you're doing that's cool, unusual or just a lot of fun!

YES! I started blogging around June of this year, because I wanted an outlet for writing/helping others scrap (while I write a book on scrapping) AND because I thought it would make me feel a little more obligated to keep up on things. I never imagined that blogging would be so closely related to scrapping or how it would influence my scrapping. Now, I find I go back to blog entries to remember details for my pages. Also, I find that my blog captures moments in ways that my pages can't. Finally, my family can see my pages as I get them done (without having to wait for a visit so that they can pour through the scrapbooks). What an interesting new (at least to me) medium!

I've been blogging for a couple of years now. Started on MSN Spaces and now I'm on Blogger. Started blogging mainly so our family could keep up with us as we went through an international adoption... now it is just about our life in general with our 2-year-old daughter. I've been doing some digi-scrapbooking...but plan to get more serious with it this year. I'll be going back through my blog for ideas. Funny... my husband recently said the same thing... he sees my blog as an online scrapbook.

This is all new to me -- but with family all over the place, we need to start a family blog and I am going to figure out how to do it

I started my blog about a year ago, after seeing a friend's blog. She's a paper scrapper, but I began to find great digital stuff online and began to give it a try! I'm a working mother with 20 month old twins, so I don't get a ton of time to scrap, but I love it! I'm so anxious for the magazine! I love Simple, and can't wait to see it.

Yep me too! I started my blog almost a year ago, mainly so that my online scrapbooking friends could catch up with me (and I them) and so I could share all my latest creations!!
My daily routine includes a fair amount of Blog stalking, and I find it really inspiring!!

I've been blogging for over three years now, and love every aspect of it. I love the writing, the community, sharing ideas, the inspiration, the connection with other bloggers. I've used blog posts as "sites for future journaling" - meaning I can jot down thoughts and impressions of events in nearly real-time, months before I ever get around to scrapping the page. Then I have the journaling to refer back to when I need it. A blog is definitely a valuable scrapbooking tool!

I started blogging this fall. I never thought of it as a form of scrapbooking but rather an extension of my journal. As I look back at it though, it is a form of scrapbook, because it contains the photos and thoughts of different events.

I've been blogging for just over a year. I started it just to see what it would be like and I am surprised that I am still going! It's a great way to keep my family and friends up to date on my life in France, and I also use my posts for journaling on my scrapbook pages!

I started my blog as a way to share pictures with family. But now I include my layouts because my family love those as well!

I started blogging in April 2006 to keep everyone posted on my progress as I battled cancer though chemo and radiation. Now that I am in remission, there is so much going on with building a new house, my excitement about Digital Scrapbooking Magazine, and of course there are all those photos and scrapbook pages to share that I finally have the energy and brain power to create.

I have been blogging for around 9 months now, mostly to show family and friends my layouts and tell my news and also to sometimes communicate with my students (I teach Digital Scrapbooking with Photoshop). I love getting my thoughts down on 'paper' and at the end of each entry I realise how full my life is!

I've been blogging since March of '05. Almost 2 years. It started as a journal, mostly personal and with few lookers. Now family stops by, friends stop by... keep in touch. Answer questions. Post challenges. Link up exciting new finds. Tell people about fun things online or in "person."

It's a scrapbook, a journal, it's more than a log. ;)

I know my mom really enjoys reading my blog, as well as a couple of friends back home. Nobody else in my family blogs, but if they did, I would read it! ;)

Started my blog as a way of communicating with friends out of town, venting my feelings, and sharing my art which I never showed anyone. I liked the idea of being anonymous(spelled wrong).

I started blogging about a year and a half ago - starting out with just family things and posting my layouts to keep family up to date. Then in January of last year I started a scraplift blog where i find a layout that I like, post it and let anyone who wants to lift it do it and send it to me and I post them all together: http://digi-scraplift.blogspot.com

Then a month ago I got a new digital SLR Canon Rebel Xti and started a photog/scrap page blog:

I love blogging my scrapping life - I have no idea who reads it - but I enjoy it!

I've been blogging for about a year now. I started as a way to communicate with my family who lives far away but then I started incorporating others things that I am interested in. I write about scrapping, baking, photography and day to day stuff. I love sharing ideas with others and also learning from other people who blog and since I am so into computers it is the perfect media for me!

I blog to keep my family ( my *large* family) up to speed on my happenings. One of my resolutions is to update it more often AND to put more of "me" into it...so far it's just the basics. I like to post my work and digital pages for them to see, since they don't really check out any of the sites I frequent.

Now I have more blogs to check out..thanks! :)

Blogging has become my second obsession (right behing scrapping, of course!). I cannot begin to describe the JOY it brings me to share my thoughts, interesting "finds", freebies, and of course - LAYOUTS - with my friends, family, and fellow scrap-addicts. I even had a chance to start a "Baby Blog" this summer when my daughter was expecting her first child (check it out at http://juneoneal.typepad.com/baby). My regular blog can be found at http://junoneal.typepad.com/llc. One thing I've noticed is that although I've been getting LOTS of visitors, no one ever seems to leave comments, feedback, or just an "I stopped by" message in the provided "chat box". Blogging is SO MUCH more fun when you get messages and comments from your visitors. I'd encourage EVERYONE that visits a blog to leave a comment or two each time if possible. Just a simple, "Hey, I like your blog," would brighten my day tremendously. So if you stop by, let me know. If you leave me an address where your blog is located, I'd LOVE to do the same!

P.S. I'm SO EXCITED about the new mag, I can hardly contain myself!!!! Thanks in advance for what I'm SURE will be the definitive resource and primary magazine of choice for us avid digi-scrappers! <3

ok my turn

I have blogged for a long time now, I keep one up for my Family who all live far away.

I like to keep them up to date, post my recent lay outs- and enjoy writing about what's going on.

I started blogging to keep family up to date on our kids. Most of them live out of state, so it is a great way to remain in touch.

I recently started a blog for my scrapbooking layouts and musings on digital scrapbooking - just so I would devote more time to completing layouts - and it is working - I think about my blog and layouts for it and in the process I am scrapbooking important moments in my life.

Hi:
I started blogging as a way to get into more journaling done on my lo. Over the past few months I've kinda slow down on blogging due to time constraint.

I am starting again on updating every day now.
Have a great weekend.

Let me see I've been blogging for about 6 months now... not long! I was a bit dubious about starting up a blog simply because I didn't think I would be able to keep it updated... but I seem to be doing OK for the moment. My blog is http://www.justme-leenie.blogspot.com/ and I usually use it to share my LO's and to complain about my in-laws, ROFL.. no seriously I do, I need to vent and since they don't have my blog addy I can just let it all fly, he he.

Can't wait to get my first instalment of the new mag too, I'm sure it'll be fantastic!

Hi... I love how blogging keeps me writing... and since I'm often lonesome... it makes me feel like I'm communicating with the wider world... and someone is reading about my life - even if they're not commenting in return (although i love comments).

I'm trying to start off a "Papercrafters against Climate Change" campaign -- to let us papercrafters who use up the world's trees with our paper desire (more reasons to start digital scrapbooking) -- I'm not collecting money myself or anything - just donate to your own affiliation / local organisation and let me know, so I add up the total... Call it Carbon Offsetting for all the paper we use.. :)

Anyway.. looking forward to the Digital Scrapbooking Mag coming!!!

Sue.
